Category Relationships

The Category Relationships page connects your company with categories in Actualog.

Use this page to show where your company works in the category hierarchy and which role your company has in each selected category.

A company can add relationships with different category levels, not only with the most specific product-level categories.

This page does not create products. It connects the company to categories and roles. If the category does not exist, use Create new category to propose or create the category first, then return here and link the company to it.

Manufacturer relationship

Select Manufacturer when your company produces products that belong to the selected category.

For example, if your company manufactures stainless steel pipes, you can link the company to a relevant pipe category and select:

Manufacturer

If the company is also a distributor for the same category, you can select both:

Manufacturer
Distributor

Choose only the roles that really describe your company’s activity in the selected category.

Add a category relationship

  1. In the Category field, start typing a category name, code, or tag.
  2. Select the correct category from the search results.
  3. In Relationship types, select Manufacturer or another applicable role.
  4. Click Save relationship.

The selected category will appear in the Linked categories section.

Create a new category

Use Create new category only when the category you need does not exist yet.

Categories and products are separate objects in Actualog.

Products should be added in the product workspace, not on this page.

Linked categories

The Linked categories section shows categories already connected to your company.

Column Description
Category The linked category and its place in the category hierarchy.
Relationships The selected company roles for this category, such as Manufacturer or Distributor.
Manage Opens controls for managing the relationship.
Brands Shows or allows selecting brands related to this category.
Products Shows the number of company products connected to this category.
Actions Allows removing the relationship.

Removing a relationship

Use the action button in the Actions column to remove the link between your company and the category.

This removes only the company-category relationship. It does not delete the category.

Use the Category Relationships page to define where your company participates in the Actualog category hierarchy.

For manufacturers, this page shows which categories your company manufactures products for and helps organize company visibility by category and role.
